We stayed at Hiatus during the week of Labor Day to celebrate my 50th birthday. The best part about staying at Hiatus was the fact that my parents owned this home until 2010, and we were all so excited to return to the former family lake house! There have been many beautiful upgrades made inside & out. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and had plenty of lighting. The large dining room table has plenty of seating; the deck off of the kitchen can be used as a dining area as well (weather permitting). Beautiful and sturdy outdoor furniture upstairs & downstairs. The hot tub was a favorite for many and the firepit on the patio was great (there is also one down by the dock area). The house is pet friendly and there are several different ways you could take your pets outside for use of the "bathroom". The house was very clean and also had brooms and a light weight vacuum to use throughout the week (pine needles made their way inside easily and needed some attention during our visit). We saw a bald eagle while sitting near the dock, a fox made a brief appearance in the early morning, and a couple of white tailed deer showed themselves as well. I'm hoping to make our return to Hiatus a yearly tradition and you should too. Kim B.
